Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism (CCT) has had the pleasure of working alongside Errol in his role at Lonely Planet over the past number of years, in particular following the Canterbury Earthquakes that caused such damage to our city. Errol has been a huge support and advocate for the city, always being able to see the opportunity and positives where many others have just seen negativity.

Recently CCT has worked together with Lonely Planet, when Christchurch was named in the Top 10 Cities to visit in the Best of Travel 2013 Guide. Errol dedicated a huge amount of time and resource to help re-energise tourism for Christchurch, and this accolade, driven mainly through Errol’s efforts, has been a huge boost to the city. A multi-faceted marketing plan was also implemented to ensure that this accolade could be utilised to its full potential, working in collaboration with his team at Lonely Planet and our marketing team here at Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism. We have been incredibly pleased with the results and coverage.

Errol shows true passion for his work, and is always professional in his approach. His thoughts and ideas are incredibly well researched, so much so that our assistance was often more to confirm what he already had ascertained himself. He is incredibly well liked and admired within the industry from all levels, attending trade shows himself and always giving people his full attention and respect.
